REFUGE FOR HORSES
Every horse deserves safety, dignity, and a chance at a better future.
Psalm 911 is the rescue and intervention arm of Iron Giants. While we primarily focus on draft horses, our gates are open to any equine in need. Whether a horse is facing neglect, abuse, slaughter risk, owner hardship, medical challenges, or simply needs a safe place to land, we step in wherever we can.
Many of the horses that come through our gates have spent their entire lives serving others. They pulled wagons, worked ranches, carried riders, raised families, taught lessons, and gave everything they had. Too often, when age, injury, finances, or life circumstances change, they find themselves without a place to go.

While draft horses are our primary focus, we have rescued and cared for many different animals, including non-draft horses, llamas, alpacas, goats, dogs, rabbits, and more.
Every situation is evaluated individually to ensure we can safely and responsibly provide the care each animal deserves. If an animal needs help, we encourage you to reach out.

Every horse receives individualized care based on their needs. This includes veterinary treatment, hoof care, dentals, chiropractic, bodywork, nutrition support, supplements, training, socialization, rehabilitation, and most importantly, unlimited amounts of love.
Our goal is not simply to rescue horses, but to help them heal, step into their purpose, and truly thrive.

Yes. Many of our horses are seniors or have special needs that make them unsuitable for adoption. These horses remain at Iron Giants for the rest of their lives, enjoying safety, companionship, and quality care.

Sometimes. While most of our horses become long-term residents through sanctuary or our mentorship programs, we occasionally place a horse in a carefully selected home when the perfect match comes along. Every adoption decision is made with the horse's long-term well-being in mind.

No. With safety at the forefront of our program, not all of our rescues are physically, mentally, and emotionally suited for our youth program.

Many believe horses sent to slaughter are old, broken, or humanely euthanized. In reality, many are healthy horses simply caught in unfortunate circumstances, and the “euthanization” process is anything but humane.
Before slaughter, horses may spend days or even weeks packed into trailers and holding pens with limited food, water, and rest. As prey animals, this can be detrimental to any horse caught in the system.
The slaughter process itself is not the peaceful ending many people imagine. While we won't go into graphic detail here, we encourage anyone interested to research the realities of horse slaughter for themselves, and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

Absolutely. We understand that surrendering a horse can be one of the hardest decisions a person makes. All surrender conversations are handled with compassion, dignity, and confidentiality.
